Emame the MAME emulator for Nokia 7610 Symbian Phone and the ROMS

Download EMame Emulator for S60 + stacks of working roms ( 3.2 MB )

Package updated: 29th January 2005 with EEMame V1.1. (slight speed improvement for some games and samples implemented.)

Instructions:

1. Unzip downloaded package. (dont unzip the game roms.)
2. Install the SIS file with the Nokia app installer
3. Create a folder on your memory card called 'Mame' and within that another folder called 'Roms' and upload all the roms to it. (leave in zipped form.)
4. Run the MAME emulator on your phone, and use the 'scan for installed games' option to ensure mame can see everything.
5. Howl with happiness.

You can redefine keys etc once in mame by pressing the left nav key.

If it doesn't run the only reason can be that you have used too much of your phone's built in memory (not the mem card) already. Ensure you install the app onto your memory card leaving as much of your phone memory free to be used for running Mame and you should not experience problems.

For those unfamiliar to MAME, press '2' to get credits, the press '1' or '2' for one or two players. With the 7610 there is still a bug in that the sound - so sound is not reproduced 100% properly, there is a slight 'skipping' or 'ticking' sound. The games however are still great fun !
